About this venue

All Hallows by the Tower stands on Byward Street next to the Tower of London and is the oldest church in the City, founded in 675. Rebuilt after wartime bombing, it keeps a Saxon arch, a Roman pavement in its crypt and a set of carved limewood font covers.

Alongside daily worship it runs a public programme: free organ recitals at lunchtime on Thursdays, a weekly candlelit Taize service, concerts and exhibitions through the year, and ceremonies such as the Knollys Rose and Beating the Bounds. The church is open to visitors daily and has a cafe, step-free access and a hearing loop.
