About this venue
The Amersham Arms is a mid-19th-century two-room pub on New Cross Road, retaining original wood panelling and its neon "TAKE COURAGE" sign. The front bar operates as a traditional pub; the rear room runs as a dedicated grassroots music venue, with programming skewing towards rock, metal and post-hardcore alongside weekly stand-up comedy and DJ/club nights. It no longer keeps real ale on handpump but remains an active live-music fixture in New Cross.
