About this venue
The Apollo Theatre opened on Shaftesbury Avenue in 1901, designed by Lewin Sharp and named for the Greek god of the arts. It is Grade II listed and is one of the six West End houses run by Nimax Theatres.
The auditorium seats 827 across four levels, the steepest stack of balconies on the avenue. Its programme covers plays and musicals rather than a single resident show.
This is the Apollo Theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue, a different building from the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith and from the Apollo Victoria.
