About this venue
Blackwell Meadows is a rugby and football ground on the south side of Darlington, opened in 1994 as the new home of Darlington RFC after the club sold its McMullen Road site. Darlington 1883 (now Darlington FC) began playing there in December 2016, and the ground was then upgraded with a new playing area and a seated stand, expanded to 588 seats in 2018. Its capacity is 3,281, including 588 seated.
The Darlington RFC clubhouse on the site has a lounge, a spacious players' bar and an upstairs meeting and function room. The bar operates as a members' club, so non-members should check before visiting. Enquiries go to the rugby club on 01325 363777.
Not to be confused with The Darlington Arena on Neasham Road, which is the home of Darlington Mowden Park RFC.
