About this venue

Cafeteatret occupies a former Methodist church of 1896 in Hollendergata at Grønland in Oslo — a handsome room with acoustics to match. It is the home of Nordic Black Theatre, which programmes theatre, music and family events there. By day the building works as a café; in the evening it becomes a stage. Music is a standing part of the programme rather than an occasional guest: the Kampenjazz concert series plays here, and the venue is used by Oslo World, the festival for music from outside the Western mainstream. The room is also hired out for private functions.
