About this venue
Carnival House opened in 2020 in the former St Hilda's parish centre on The Kings Road in Southwick, Sunderland. The derelict building was converted by The Creative Seed, a community interest company, into a carnival-themed arts space and cafe.
It is a multi-use venue with a stage for performances, meeting and workshop spaces and the Carnival Kitchen cafe & bar. The programme takes in classes in painting, dance and music, pop-up galleries, craft and makers' markets, and holiday activity clubs, and rooms are available for private hire.
