About this venue

Darlington Library on Crown Street is the town's central library, run by Darlington Borough Council. Visitors entering by the original East Street entrance pass through the Victorian library as designed in 1885, and the building reopened after a major restoration. Off the original foyer are the Hoskins Room, a hireable event space created from the former training rooms, the Reminiscence Room for older adults, the Centre for Local Studies and an Art Gallery with a changing programme of exhibitions. The Hive is a modern, flexible space with laptops, virtual-reality headsets, a 3D printer and sewing machines, used for STEM activities and school visits. Enquiries to the library on 01325 349610.
