The Hatch Shell is an outdoor arena on the Charles River Esplanade. The shell is commonly recognized for hosting the Boston Pops Orchestra on the 4th of July. Additionally, the venue provides free concerts on most weekends and weeknights during the summer. Classical, local, international, Oldies, Blues, Jazz, and Rock and Roll performances are held from spring through fall.
