About this venue
The Degginger on Wahlenstraße is a space and platform for creativity, culture and innovation in the heart of Regensburg's old town. It is run as a municipal support project: the city's Kreativbehörde, with the cluster management for the cultural and creative industries, the city's Cross-Innovation initiative and the Department of Culture, manages the house, its programme and its community. The curated programme brings lectures, conferences and symposiums, hackathons, exhibitions, pop-up stores, workshops and concerts to a general and specialist public, and the ground-floor café serves regional and seasonal food and drink.
The main stage room (Bühne) has 150 square metres for 30 to 170 people, with event and presentation technology, seating options and a bar. The Projektlabor (about 50 square metres, up to 30 people) suits meetings, workshops and small talks, and a pop-up room of about 38 square metres is let by the week for exhibitions and pop-up stores. Rooms are let at subsidised rates, by the hour or day, through the Locaboo booking tool; musicians who want to play can contact the café. The house is largely barrier-free, with step-free access from Tändlergasse, a lift, an accessible toilet and, on request, a ramp to the stage and a mobile induction loop.
