About this venue
The Ensemblehaus Freiburg on Schützenallee in the Wiehre district is a 1,500 m² new building that opened in May 2012 as the shared home of two internationally known ensembles, the Freiburger Barockorchester and the contemporary-music Ensemble Recherche. It is used mainly for rehearsals, with acoustics designed by Kahle Acoustics; the large rehearsal room, more than 200 m², is also used for recordings and public concerts.
Public events include family and school concerts by the Freiburger Barockorchester introducing children to Baroque music, with dates listed into 2027; the house is also linked with the Baden-Württembergische Ensemble Akademie. The building is listed as step-free to the DIN 18040 standard. Audience capacity is not published.
