About this venue
Festiviteten is the cultural gathering place in Mysen, in Indre Østfold. The building went up in 1958 and, besides the combined cinema and theatre hall, originally held offices, meeting rooms and a public bath in the basement.
The hall seats 389 and carries what the house calls the region's largest screen. It runs as a retro cinema with a deliberate nod to classical film-going — retro screenings on alternate Thursdays, daytime cinema on alternate Wednesdays, premieres, concert films and a Harry Potter club — and as an event cinema, where screenings are combined with quizzes, concerts and themed evenings alongside its own cultural programme.
