About this venue

Gamle Raadhus Scene occupies the first floor of Gamle Raadhus on Christiania Torv in Oslo — the building that served as Christiania's first town hall, put up in 1641 by councillor Lauritz Hansen with a contribution from the king. The entrance is from the square, next to Skyggesiden bar & grill. The stage is run by Opera til folket. Its own programme is built around opera made accessible: Lørdagsopera on Saturday afternoons, opera pub nights and children's opera. Between performances the room is used for rehearsals of larger productions, courses, meetings and gatherings for freelancers. It is a venue of the Oslo Operafestival and is listed on Operabase and Live Klassisk; tickets run through TicketCo.
