About this venue

Gloucester Park is an 11-hectare open space off Park Road in the Westgate ward, close to the city centre. It has a bandstand, a children's play area, a seasonal café, toilets, an aviary, cricket and bowling facilities, and an orienteering course. A skate park and basketball courts are at neighbouring Baker's Field. The park hosts cultural, sporting and charity events throughout the year. Events in 2026 included Gloucester Pride, the Ratha Yatra Festival of Chariots and the Gloucester Park Mash at Baker's Field. It is covered by a premises licence. Gloucester City Council hires the park out for events through its City Events group, which needs an event application, a risk assessment and public liability insurance. Notify the council at least three months ahead, or six months for events of 499 people or more. Alcohol, music or outdoor entertainment may also need a licence.
