Gloucester Prison

Gloucester Prison is the former HMP Gloucester at Barrack Square, a Georgian prison next to Gloucester Docks. Events at the site are run by CrackingDay Ltd under the trading name Gloucester Prison Events. The company holds the exclusive events licence from the owners, City and Country Group, and also runs the former HMP Dorchester. The prison is open for guided and candlelit tours, hide and seek, paranormal investigations and educational visits. It is also a film and photography location, with wings, cells, workshops, offices and outdoor yards inside secure walls, on a site of more than four acres. The indoor and outdoor spaces can be hired for events including film screenings, conferences, dance events, fashion shows, product launches, car meets, comic and horror conventions and live-action role play. The former chapel has good acoustics, a smooth floor for dancing, a small stage and a gallery overlooking the room. The site is secure, with no public access during private hires.
