About this venue
Goldmarks (Goldmark's Kneipe) opened in April 2010 in the Charlottenplatz underground station complex and is named after Peter Carl Goldmark, inventor of the vinyl long-playing record. The interior is built around vinyl: records line the walls, the bar lamps are made from records and the drinks menus are printed on them.
The music is mainly soul, garage, punk rock, hardcore, power pop, rock 'n' roll, sixties and rockabilly, played by resident vinyl DJs in regular series such as The Horse Soul Club, Punkrock Aerobics and 100% Vinyl, alongside small concerts in a living-room atmosphere — past acts include the Bellrays, D.R.I., Ten Foot Pole, King Khan and the Adolescents, and the Godfathers and Dÿse are on the 2026 calendar. In summer there is a large outdoor area with a view of the palace and park. It usually opens on Friday and Saturday from 8 pm.
Goldmarks was the smaller sister club of the neighbouring Universum, whose spaces have stood empty since the operating company gave up its lease. As reported in December 2024, the Goldmarks lease with the transit operator SSB is renewed a year at a time pending a planned renovation of the Charlottenplatz station, for which no start date had been set.
