About this venue
Hafen 2 is a cultural centre at Nordring 129 on the Offenbach harbour, run by the non-profit association suesswasser e.V. – Kunst und Kultur im Hafen Offenbach. It started in 2004 as an interim use of a former harbour-railway engine shed on the Nordring; when that building gave way to redevelopment, a fundraising campaign paid for a new house and grounds about 800 metres away, and the centre moved there in May 2013 as a permanent project.
Today it describes itself as a concert venue and house club, arthouse cinema (Hafenkino) and café, with exhibitions, theatre, readings and debates. Events mostly take place at weekends; in spring and summer they often move outdoors to the riverside, where the grounds have two outdoor stages and space for open-air cinema, and since 2023 the hall can be opened up with sliding doors. The meadow is home to sheep, geese, ducks and chickens. Recent and upcoming concerts include indie, folk and alt-country acts such as Acht Eimer Hühnerherzen, Christian Kjellvander, Fuffifufzich and Grace Cummings. Booking requests for concerts, club nights, cinema and art go by email only.
