Jönköpings idrottshus

Jönköpings idrottshus, nicknamed Kåken, is a municipally owned sports hall by Västra Torget in Jönköping. It opened in 1939 and was extended and modernised in stages, including a major rebuild in 2017-2019 that added a new A hall. The municipality describes it as the main arena for handball, floorball and rhythmic gymnastics, and it is the home of Jönköpings Innebandyklubb and the handball clubs IF Hallby and IK Cyrus. The event arena has a 10 metre ceiling and about 1,500 seats, with room for roughly 1,000 more visitors when the arena floor is used for the audience, and it stages ticketed Handbollsligan matches. Four further full-size halls (A, B, C and D) can be hired, along with premises for boxing, weightlifting and karate. The building also has a 12-lane bowling hall and a café. Halls and rooms are hired through the municipality's booking centre, with prices set by hall category.
