About this venue
Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre is a historic theatre on Raby Road, run by Hartlepool Borough Council under its Culture Hartlepool banner. It has a main auditorium of around 400 seats (402 theatre-style), a small upstairs theatre, rehearsal spaces, dressing rooms and the Empire Bar. It is home to a local theatre school and supports both professional and community productions.
The programme mixes comedy, drama, music, children's theatre and pantomime. The autumn 2026 and spring 2027 season includes Absolute Bowie, The Queen Story, Nashville Live, Ray Quinn's A Swinging Christmas, the Hot Potato Comedy Club, the pantomime Cinderella, Celebrating Celine and Lindisfarne.
The theatre is available for weddings, parties and functions, and the auditorium can be adapted for cabaret and standing performances. The box office is run from Hartlepool Art Gallery on Church Street (01429 890000).
