Hausmania Kulturhus

Hausmania is a self-managed social centre and culture house in Hausmanns gate in Oslo. A group of artists squatted the building in 1999 and it has been run on collectivist principles ever since; the premises are owned by Oslo municipality and leased to the house. It provides workspace for around 200 artists and holds a multipurpose hall — Flerbrukshallen — alongside a theatre, galleries, an internet space, a vegan café and a legal graffiti wall. Kafé Hærverk, Galleri Podium and Grusomhetens Teater all operate from the building. The programme runs across concerts, theatre and art, with a strong activist strand. Note that Barrikaden, the punk and hardcore club a few doors up at Hausmanns gate 40, is a separate house and is listed separately.
