About this venue
The Historischer Reichssaal in the Altes Rathaus on Rathausplatz was the meeting place of the Perpetual Imperial Diet (Immerwährender Reichstag) from 1663 to 1806. Since 1969 the city's Kulturamt has presented the Rathauskonzerte here, one of Bavaria's longest-running classical concert series, with internationally sought-after soloists and ensembles in classical music, early music and new folk music, and with chamber concerts by members of the Philharmonisches Orchester Regensburg.
The 2025/26 season brought the Regensburger Domspatzen, a Bach cantata programme, The Munich Harmonists and a percussion crossover evening, and the 2026/27 autumn concerts open on 2 October 2026. Concerts start at 7.30 pm; tickets are sold at the Tourist-Info in the Altes Rathaus, the Kulturreferat at Haidplatz 8 and online, with season subscriptions available.
