About this venue
Hurtigrutens Hus is the cultural and competence centre for Vesterålen, at Stokmarknes in Hadsel municipality, run as a municipal enterprise. It marked 25 years of operation recently.
Storsalen seats 521 on amphitheatre stands. Both halls are built so the stands can be moved out to leave a flat floor, and cleared that way the main hall takes 1,080. Lillesalen seats 150 on the same principle.
The building does more than concerts: it is a teaching venue for the municipal culture school and Nord University, and holds exhibitions, rehearsal rooms and the local cinema. A hotel operates in the same building.
