About this venue
Town House is Kingston University's Stirling Prize-winning academic building on its Penrhyn Road campus in Kingston upon Thames, designed by Grafton Architects and completed in 2020. It combines a multi-floor library with dance and drama studios, a studio theatre, an art gallery showing work from Kingston School of Art, informal learning spaces and two public cafes, culminating in a rooftop garden overlooking Kingston and the River Thames toward Hampton Court.
Beyond its academic use, Town House operates as a bookable venue through the university's Space at Kingston service. Its flexible ground-floor Courtyard, with sliding walls and tiered seating, converts into a 308-seat lecture theatre or performance space, alongside smaller meeting and exhibition rooms, making it available for conferences, dinners, receptions and training as well as university teaching and public events.
