About this venue
The KJK Sandgasse (Kinder-, Jugend- und Kulturzentrum) occupies Sandgasse 26, a listed building erected in 1903 as the municipal pawnshop. The City of Offenbach converted it in 1998–2000 for around 2.5 million marks; on about 1,800 m² it now houses a children's café, a multi-purpose concert and event hall, workshops and labs, a media floor and the city's youth culture office (Jugendkulturbüro). Since 2006 it has worked as a multi-generation house with a programme for all age groups.
The Jugendkulturbüro runs weekly theatre, visual-art and music sessions (including rap and vocal recording and band coaching), holiday programmes and theatre performances, plus evening events: a disco on the second Saturday of each month, an open stage on the last Friday of each month with free entry, and announced concerts with local acts and other cultural events. The next open stage is on 30 October 2026.
