Kooperativet Kulturscene

Kooperativet Kulturscene is the concert room in Vadsø, in Finnmark on the northern shore of the Varangerfjord. It occupies the old cooperative building known as Vårbrudd in the town centre, a house rebuilt in 1952 after the wartime destruction of Vadsø, and the venue is still often listed under both names. It is run in connection with Varangerfestivalen, the festival that has anchored the town's music life since the 1980s, and works as the year-round stage between festivals. Rockeklubben i Varanger uses it as its Vadsø venue for rock, pop and related genres, and Vadsø Jazzklubb programmes here too; touring Norwegian acts such as Violet Road play the room, and it also takes local events like the Vadsø men's choir and the UKM youth festival.
