KTS Freiburg

The KTS (Kulturtreff in Selbstverwaltung) is Freiburg's self-managed autonomous centre and a long-standing institution of the city's subculture. It began in 1994 in a squatted building on the former Vauban barracks site and moved in 1998 into a disused railway building on Basler Straße, rented from the city; after years of uncertainty an open-ended lease was signed in January 2008. The centre hosts independent concerts by touring and local bands, with shows listed through October 2026, alongside political and cultural events.
