Kulturhaus Dock 4

The Kulturhaus Dock 4 was founded in 1990 in the former Gerhart-Hauptmann-Schule as a cross-genre performance venue for Kassel's independent cultural scene, with a focus on children's and youth culture. A varied programme for all ages takes place on the Deck 1 studio stage, the Zwischendeck and in the Halle, and the building also holds production and rehearsal rooms. Current listings include independent theatre productions, solo performances and puppet theatre for children. Every summer the Filmladen Kassel runs a ten-week open-air cinema in the inner courtyard. Cultural practitioners can rent the Halle, Deck 1 and other rooms for a symbolic fee for events, series, concerts, performances and theatre productions.
