About this venue

Lancaster Library is a working public library on Market Square that also operates as an unconventional live music venue. It is the home of Get It Loud In Libraries, a project started by Lancaster music librarian Stewart Parsons in 2006 to bring touring gigs into libraries, with no age restrictions and an intimate, all-ages setting.

Since its breakthrough Long Blondes show in 2006, the project has hosted acts including Adele, Wolf Alice, The Vaccines, Gruff Rhys, Low, Idles and The Last Dinner Party on their way up, with recent Lancaster shows including indie duo Flyte.
