About this venue

Lier kulturscene is the municipality's stage at Heggveien 4 in Lier, run by Lier kommune's culture and leisure department. The programme spans theatre, concerts, stand-up, lectures and film, from classical music to contemporary acts and the Senioruniversitetet lecture series; Bugge Wesseltoft and 440 Hertz are among the names in the autumn 2026 calendar. Tickets go through TicketCo, and there is a café in the building. The hall is a single flexible room. With the stage raised it takes 400 standing; with the telescopic amphitheatre out it seats 250. It is properly rigged for a house this size — motorised bars, a front curtain, movable acoustic drapes, a motorised projection screen and a frame-tensioned rear-wall canvas, projector, and a motorised line-array PA. A mobile AV rack and lectern lets a hirer run sound and video themselves during conferences and presentations. Besides public events the stage is let for pre-production, where tours and festivals build and rehearse their shows, and it can record concerts and performances live. A full technical specification is available from the house on request. Enquiries go to kultur@lier.kommune.no.
