The Liverpool Irish Centre is the home of the Irish community of Merseyside, at 6 Boundary Lane. It runs Gaelic language and traditional music classes, Irish dancing, a library and live GAA coverage, and programmes ceilis, comedy nights and live music. Resident groups include the Liverpool Irish Choir, the Liverpool Irish Fluteband, Liverpool Comhaltas and Conradh na Gaeilge Liverpool, and the calendar runs from a monthly ceili and trad session to a Samhain ceili, sean nos workshops, folk nights and an annual pantomime.
The building is let for concerts, parties, conferences and corporate events across three rooms. The Hall has a large stage and dancefloor, an HD projector and a PA. The Bar and the Heritage Room share two large screens with Sky Sports and a separate PA. There is also a large garden with its own children's playground. The centre publishes a single overall figure of 250 standing or 150 seated rather than per-room capacities.
Access is good: the centre states that the entire venue is wheelchair friendly, with ramps and assistance rails at the main entrance and two accessible parking bays by the front door. The car park has a further 28 standard bays and is gated overnight. The centre is about 1.5 miles from Liverpool Lime Street.
The bar is open Friday and Saturday afternoons through to midnight and on Sunday afternoons and evenings, with daytime opening Monday to Thursday. The centre is a registered charity, no. 1189855.
