About this venue

Llanthony Secunda Priory was a large Augustinian priory founded outside Gloucester's city walls in 1136. The site is a scheduled monument with Grade I and Grade II listed buildings, including two 15th-century buildings, the remains of a tithe barn, a gatehouse and a Victorian farmhouse, all set in five acres of grounds beside the historic docks. It is run by the Llanthony Secunda Priory Trust, a registered charity, and reopened in 2018 after 19 months of restoration. The priory is hired for weddings, exclusive hire, concerts, private parties with live bands or DJs, Christmas parties, corporate meetings and conferences, with day delegate packages, a bar and partner caterers. The Henry Dene Hall takes 120 standing or 100 theatre or banquet style, and the Lady Margaret Hall takes 60. The grounds can be hired on their own for outdoor events, performances and festivals; the venue's own figures for them are 500+ guests and 1,500+ for outdoor audiences. The Trust also runs its own events, such as gigs, a Gloucester Punk Turns 50 night, choir concerts, exhibitions and workshops, along with free open days from April to September. There is level access, a platform lift in the farmhouse, accessible toilets, and Blue Badge parking on site.
