Lytham Green
A public green on the Lytham seafront beside Lytham Windmill, home each summer to the multi-day Lytham Festival and otherwise open year-round for walking, kite-flying and picnics.
About this venue
Lytham Green is a strip of open grassland on the Lytham seafront, between the coastal road and the River Ribble estuary, next to the landmark Lytham Windmill and the old lifeboat station. It is public space, freely open all year for dog walking, kite flying and picnics.
Each July the green is transformed into what promoters brand "The Proms Arena" for the Lytham Festival, a five-night music festival with a stated capacity of around 20,000 that has hosted headline acts including Robbie Williams, Fatboy Slim and Becky Hill. Outside festival week it reverts to ordinary public open space with no admission charge or booking.
