About this venue
Manchester Barton Aerodrome is a grass airfield on Liverpool Road at Barton-upon-Irwell, about seven miles west of Manchester city centre. It was known as City Airport and City Airport Manchester until it was rebranded Manchester Barton Aerodrome on 3 April 2023.
Alongside flying operations the site is used as an open-air events venue. Barton LIVE, a four-day open-air music series, ran on the airfield from 2 to 5 July 2026 with David Gray, Faithless, Craig David presents TS5 and an Electric Heart bill including The Fratellis and Scouting For Girls. The aerodrome also runs car boot sales, pleasure flights and match-day parking for the neighbouring CorpAcq Stadium, and takes bookings for private events. The Club House restaurant and bar on the site is listed separately. No event capacity is published, so none is recorded here.
