About this venue
The Mausoleum in the Schlosspark Rumpenheim, in the Offenbach district of Rumpenheim, was the resting place of 17 members of the landgrave family until it was cleared in February 1964 and the remains moved to a crypt beside the church. Enlarged over the decades to just under 100 m², it later served as a store and, from the mid-1980s, as an architect's office, before standing empty from 1995. Since 1999 it has been the home stage of RUK – Rumpenheim Kultur e.V., a volunteer association that organises cultural and intercultural events. Working under a listed-building condition that forbids even a nail in the wall, the association fitted out the room for small-scale performances itself; the original columns remain in the hall. Since an exterior renovation the building has a new, representative entrance on its front side. It has a small stage, a self-built bar and a light and sound system, with a toilet trailer outside.
The room seats about 50, or holds up to 80 for standing events such as rock bands or discos. The programme covers concerts, exhibitions, theatre and cabaret, readings and talks, plus the "RUK 22" open-stage evenings with free entry; autumn 2026 dates include a poetry slam, a Miles Davis book presentation with a live jazz trio, a folk, jazz and world-music concert and a political-cabaret evening.
