About this venue

Nomad is a coffee shop and bar at 431 Smithdown Road, on one of Liverpool's busiest neighbourhood strips in Wavertree. It trades as a daytime cafe known for its coffee and breakfasts, with room for both seated and standing customers and a capacity of around 40. Families are welcome and dogs are encouraged. It opens from the morning, closes in the afternoon through the week, and stays open into the night on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Those late nights are programmed rather than incidental. Nomad has hosted local jazz, soul and funk bands including Sweet Beans, Frank Griffiths Funky Foursome, Abbie Fairchild and Juice Pops, and runs an Open Decks night every Friday from 8pm at which customers bring their own vinyl to play. Cocktails and seasonal specials run alongside. The room is small enough that the whole venue effectively becomes the performance space.
