Nordland's touring theatre, in a house at Rådhusalleen in Mo i Rana finished in 2005. It plays four spaces — Hovedscena, a black box, Teaterkafeen and Rugekassa — and gives around 300 performances a year to some 30,000 people across the county.

About this venue

Nordland Teater is the county's touring theatre, founded in 1979 with its first public performance that August and incorporated as AS Nordland Teater in 1981. Nordland county owns 60 per cent and Rana municipality 40. It calls itself "hele Nordlands turnéteater" and gives around 300 performances a year to roughly 30,000 people across the county. The theatre's own house stands at Rådhusalleen in Mo i Rana, finished in the autumn of 2005 to a design by the Oslo architects Heggelund and Koxvold. It holds four performing spaces — Hovedscena, a black box, Teaterkafeen and Rugekassa — along with dressing rooms for the company and for guests, make-up rooms, offices, lighting and sound workshops, costume rooms and storage; the carpentry and metal shops and further storage sit in a separate industrial building. The house employs 25 people and engages another 50 to 60 freelancers a year, and it runs the Vinterlysfestivalen. No seating capacities are published for any of the four spaces. Tickets go through the theatre's own webshop or Eventim, and the box office is open weekdays 10:00-15:30 on +47 75 13 48 50.
