About this venue

Northampton Museum and Art Gallery is a free-entry museum at 5-6 Guildhall Road, in the town's Cultural Quarter. It is known for its internationally renowned shoe collection and also has fine art, local history displays and changing temporary exhibitions. The building joins the original museum to the historic Old Gaol Block through a contemporary space called the Link. The museum is hired out for corporate and private events, from gala dinners, award ceremonies and drinks receptions to birthday celebrations and wedding receptions. The Central Hall seats up to 100 for dinner or 150 theatre-style, and it has a sound system and digital projection, including 270-degree immersive projection. Combined with the Link and the cafe spaces, it takes informal receptions of up to 200. The Studio, a quieter room for meetings, workshops and training, holds up to 60 theatre-style, 30 meeting-style or 25 banquet-style. Catering is offered with the museum's partner, The Lewis Foundation, but outside caterers are allowed. The entrance has level access, lifts serve all floors, and hearing loops are fitted at reception and in the Studio. There is no on-site parking.
