About this venue
O2 Academy Sheffield is a live music venue on Arundel Gate in Sheffield city centre, owned and operated by Academy Music Group. It contains three rooms of different sizes: the main auditorium, Academy2 and Academy3.
The venue has been closed since September 2023, after unstable reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete was found in the roof. Sheffield City Council granted permission to replace the roof deck in February 2025 and repair work has been under way through 2026, but no reopening date has been announced. Room capacities are not recorded here because the published figures could not be reconciled.
