About this venue

The Old Market Hall occupies Caernarfon's former corn market, built in 1832 on the site of Plas Mawr and running through the block between Palace Street (Stryd y Plas) and Hole in the Wall Street. The large hipped-roof building has simple classical fronts, a pedimented central doorway on Palace Street and, inside, galleries on cast-iron posts beneath a raised central lantern. The hall has traded as a licensed venue since 2014 and has held a varied programme of events; in 2016 its premises licence was varied to cover all forms of regulated entertainment and later hours. It hosted the evening Pride Party of North Wales Pride 2023, with Tara Bandito and Ffatri Jam, and in August 2026 an 18+ live night with Ultrabeat's Rebecca Rudd.
