The Old School Rooms are part of the Grade II* listed Long Street Methodist complex in Middleton's heritage cluster, designed in the late nineteenth century by the town's own architect Edgar Wood in a mix of rustic Arts and Crafts and art nouveau. A multi-million-pound heritage restoration has brought them back into use.
The main hall holds up to 150 and keeps its original late Victorian stage, well suited to live evening entertainment, along with a choir loft. A separate ceremony room is registered for civil marriages and blessings, and both open onto a private courtyard garden used for outdoor receptions.
The venue specialises in weddings but also takes celebrations, corporate functions and meetings.

The venue's own site gives the main hall as holding up to 150 guests. The figure had been stored under the invalid layout key "reception" and is now recorded as standing.
