About this venue

Orkland Kulturscene — long known as Orkdal kino & Kulturscene, before the 2020 merger of Orkdal, Agdenes, Meldal and part of Snillfjord into Orkland municipality — is the municipal cinema and performing-arts venue in Orkanger, housed in Orkland Rådhus at Allfarveien 5. Programming runs under the Orkland kultur banner: first-run cinema most days of the week, and a parallel Kulturprogram of touring theatre, concerts, stand-up and family shows in the venue's Kultursalen. The venue is a fixed stop on Riksteatret's national touring circuit, which brings the Norwegian state touring theatre to Orkanger several times a season; Fredrik Høyer's Læreren (September 2026) and 1984 dub (April 2027) are among the productions booked in. Music and comedy come through the same hall, with singer Adam Douglas among the acts programmed in 2026. Tickets are sold through orklandkultur.no, at the box office window from 45 minutes before each event, and in person at Orkland municipality's service office in the town hall on weekdays between 09:00 and 15:00. Cinema tickets cannot be reserved, only bought, and purchased tickets are non-refundable. The venue is run by Orkland municipality's culture unit rather than by a private operator, so hire enquiries go through the municipal switchboard.
