About this venue

Otta kulturhus stands at Skansen 9 in Otta, at the foot of the Rondane in Nord-Gudbrandsdalen, and opened on 20 November 2010. Sel municipality built and runs it, together with Oppland county and Nord-Gudbrandsdal videregående skole. It is within walking distance of Otta station, roughly halfway between Oslo and Trondheim, with plenty of parking, and the building was designed throughout for people with limited mobility. The main hall takes up to 370 seated or 500 standing; the amphitheatre floor can be moved for events that need a flat floor. The stage is 19.65 m wide including the side stage, 10 m deep and 11 m to the ceiling, with modern stage equipment. Behind it are three roomy dressing rooms with 20 make-up places and a green room. There is a modern cinema in the building too. The room takes theatre, concerts, shows, dance, revues and large conferences. It is a regular Riksteatret venue, with productions booked into spring 2027, and programmes Teater Innlandet, TrondheimSolistene, tribute bands and free community events alongside the cinema.
