About this venue
Pop Recs is a cafe, record shop, music and arts venue and community hub in the Sunniside quarter of Sunderland. It was started by the band Frankie & The Heartstrings in 2013 and moved into its permanent home on High Street West in November 2021.
Run as a community interest company, it programmes touring and local indie, punk and folk acts alongside DJ nights, photography and art exhibitions, independent cinema screenings and spoken word evenings, and also promotes shows at other venues in the city.
