Princes Road Synagogue

Princes Road Synagogue is a Grade I listed Moorish Revival synagogue on Princes Road in Toxteth, and has been home to the Liverpool Old Hebrew Congregation since 1874. It is one of the most highly decorated Victorian synagogue interiors in Britain, and the congregation is a registered charity, number 1089175.

Shabbat morning services are held every week and the building is open every Saturday and on High Holy Days. Alongside the services it runs pre-booked guided tours for adult and school groups, lasting about 45 minutes and charged for, and an events programme that includes ticketed concerts — the Liverpool Welsh Choral, one of the city's leading choirs, sings a mix of Welsh choral music and other classic choral works here. The congregation has its own choir.

Visitors are welcome, but for security reasons the congregation asks that they email the office ahead of attending on Shabbat. The synagogue office is open Tuesday to Thursday, 9am to 4pm, and arranges tour and event bookings.
