About this venue
The Probonio Arena grew out of the Eissporthalle Kassel, which opened on 19 February 1977, and after extensive renovation and modernisation is now a multi-purpose arena run by the Nordhessen Arena GmbH and Co. KG. It is the home of the Kassel Huskies ice hockey club and also stages handball, international ice hockey, live concerts, comedy and other cultural events, public skating sessions and ice discos. Capacity is up to 6,100 for an ice hockey match.
Several rooms in the arena are let for corporate events, conferences and private celebrations, with events from 40 to 5,000 people; technology, in-house catering and event planning are organised by the arena team. The Auestadion tram, bus and RegioTram stop is about 100 m from the main entrance, and public car parks with three EV charging points are behind the arena.
