Royal & Derngate is Northampton's main theatre complex, on Guildhall Road in the town's Cultural Quarter, run by Northampton Theatres Trust. It houses the 450-seat Victorian Royal auditorium, the multi-purpose Derngate with a maximum capacity of 1,500 for touring shows and orchestral dates, the flexible Underground studio spaces used for community, youth and family work and the monthly Screaming Blue Murder comedy night, the two-screen Northampton Filmhouse, and the Green Room, a hireable meeting space. The building also has bars and a box office.
