The Royal Armouries Museum is the national museum of arms and armour, on Armouries Drive at Leeds Dock. Admission is free and the collection is shown across five galleries - War, Tournament, Oriental, Self Defence and Hunting - with more than 8,500 objects on display.
Alongside the museum the Royal Armouries operates one of the largest purpose-built conference and events venues in Leeds, handling events for up to 2,500 delegates. Its largest spaces are New Dock Hall, a column-free hall adjacent to the museum, the Royal Armouries Hall, which divides into three sound-proofed sections, and the 250-seat Bury Theatre. Smaller rooms include the Pearl, Aire, Barton, Hotot and Mulberry suites, the Cinema of War, the News Room, The Masters and the Asian and African, Tournament and War galleries, plus two outdoor spaces, The Amphitheatre and The Square.
