About this venue
The Royalty Theatre stands just off Chester Road in Millfield, in a former Victorian church hall that has been a theatre since 1954. It is run entirely by volunteers and is home to the Royalty Theatre Company.
The main auditorium seats 250 across two floors, with a bar, and a studio theatre was added in 1985. The programme mixes the company's own drama and musical productions with visiting shows and hires from local performing-arts groups.
