About this venue

The Sandershaus in the Bettenhausen district of Kassel is a socio-cultural centre and meeting place run by the Sandershaus e.V. since 2017. It operates a bar and shared accommodation for refugees, and offers its stage to bands and theatre groups. Concerts and other events take place regularly; the musical range runs from rock, punk and hardcore to singer-songwriters, jazz, world music and house, with over 300 events a year. On the ground floor, in around 150 m², are the bar, a seminar room that can be hired for meetings and training, the salons and a beer garden. The basement holds an open woodwork shop, a rehearsal room and the Subterrain event room, programmed together with the Weltsubkulturerbe e.V. Regular formats include a Thursday pub night, a weekly sing-along, a Monday music session and a monthly repair café. The tram stop Sandershäuser Straße (lines 4 and 8) is about ten minutes' walk away.
