About this venue
Sefton Park Palm House is a Grade II* listed Victorian glasshouse in the middle of Sefton Park, ten minutes from Liverpool city centre - a three-tiered octagonal building planted with species from around the world. It has a custom-built central stage and a designed lighting system, and is hired for weddings, concerts, festivals, corporate dinners, celebrations, exhibitions and filming, with its own exclusive grounds available during a function. It hosts around 65 weddings a year. The building is owned by Liverpool City Council and run by the Sefton Park Palm House Preservation Trust, a registered charity.
Alongside private hire the Trust programmes its own events, including a recurring Jazz Afternoon, Garden Lates with live bands, tea dances, heritage tours, talks and craft clubs, many of them free or pay-what-you-can. Catering for hired events is arranged through the venue's list of approved caterers rather than in house.
The Palm House is normally open to visitors 10am to 5pm, with the cafe until 4pm and the grounds from 8am, though it closes for private events. 2026 marks 25 years since the building reopened after restoration.
