About this venue
Skistua Hemsedal is the restaurant and afterski venue in the middle of Hemsedal Skisenter. It was the first place in the ski resort to get an alcohol licence and has been the resort's natural party address ever since, serving breakfast and lunch à la carte before a day on the slopes and running afterski afterwards. Food is made from scratch with fresh local produce.
The room holds up to 600 guests and runs live bands, troubadours and DJs every weekend through the winter season. Afterski runs Monday to Saturday from the Christmas holidays to Easter and Friday to Saturday out of season; entry is free except during the big festivals. Around 100 seats with a clear view of the stage can be reserved.
Skistua Påskival is Hemsedal's largest annual event: up to 4,000 guests a day across Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Saturday, with a stage and concert area built on the snow outside the venue in the middle of the ski resort. The 2026 edition runs 2-4 April with music from 15:00 to about 20:00 each day and a bill including Bausa, Streetboys, Staysman, Los Mexicanacas, Freddy Kalas, DJs From Mars and Charlie Roennez; tickets are 1,495 kr early bird and 1,795 kr full price, with a 20 age limit on ID. The closing weekend, Winter End, is the season's other large draw — Postgirobygget played it in 2026.
For groups the venue offers dinner with or without entertainment from 295 kr a head, exclusive nightclub hire from 10,000 kr with events running until 03:00 with a DJ and professional lighting, and a meeting room in the ski slope for up to 100 people at 3,500 kr with projector, screen and flipover. Vinterhagen is a separate room off the afterski for 50 seated or up to 75 standing, from 7,500 kr.
